Kevin Herglotz is executive vice president of Institutional Advancement, overseeing the business and program development, global events and programming, marketing and communications, and government affairs teams at the Milken Institute. His career spans over 30 years of leadership experience in the business, government, and nonprofit sectors. Previously, Herglotz served as CEO of a public affairs and strategic communications consulting firm focused on driving high-impact health, economic, and social engagement programs for clients, developing an expertise in affordable housing, access to care, childhood obesity, and veteran’s issues. He was the chief operating officer at the National AIDS Memorial, spearheading revenue growth and national partnerships that included securing major funding for the AIDS Memorial Quilt to address rising HIV rates in the southern United States. As a senior vice president at Safeway, Inc., Herglotz directed policy initiatives resulting in significant cost savings and launched a series of business and philanthropic strategies to position the company as a health and wellness thought leader. Herglotz served as deputy chief of staff and director of communications at the US Department of Agriculture, managing critical consumer and industry issues related to food safety, nutrition, trade promotion, and conservation programs. He was also a communications and political advisor to the Governor of California. A graduate of the University of Delaware, Herglotz served 10 years in the US Air Force and Air National Guard. Throughout his career Herglotz has advised the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations and business associations.
