Marianna Fassinotti

Head of Private Credit, The D. E. Shaw Group

Marianna Fassinotti is a managing director of D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. and head of the D. E. Shaw group’s Private Credit investment unit operating from the firm’s New York office. Prior to joining the D. E. Shaw group in 2015, Ms. Fassinotti was a managing director at Siguler Guff & Company, LP, cohead of that firm’s distressed investment business, and co-portfolio manager of its distressed opportunities funds. Previous to that, she was an associate director at UBS AG focusing on global distressed debt and special situations investments. Ms. Fassinotti began her career as a research associate in residential mortgage-backed securities at Lehman Brothers. She received her A.B. in government, magna cum laude, from Harvard University, where she was awarded a Harvard College Scholarship for academic distinction, and earned an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where she was an Edward Tuck Scholar. Ms. Fassinotti is a native Italian speaker and fluent in Spanish.
