Mark Walter

Founder and CEO, TWG Global; Founder and CEO, Guggenheim Partners

Mark Walter is a businessman and philanthropist. He and his wife, Kimbra, have founded or are major benefactors of several organizations that expand opportunity for young people from under-served communities. These include the Academy Group, Chicago Beyond, OneGoal and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. 
Through TWF Conservation, the Walter family works to save imperiled species and natural habitats around the world by protecting wildlife, securing vast wilderness areas, and establishing assurance populations. In Africa, TWF Conservation protects more than one million acres. TWF Conservation also supports the White Oak Conservation Center in Northern Florida, a scientific and educational center dedicated to protecting imperiled species and increasing knowledge, awareness, and support for conservation.
Walter’s business holdings span various industries, including: Guggenheim Investments; Guggenheim Securities; Group 1001 Insurance; a finance and corporate lending business; and a merchant banking - private investment business, which includes, among others, holdings in sports, media and entertainment (e.g., MLB, NBA, WNBA and Premier League franchises, motorsports teams and the Professional Women’s Hockey League), technology and AI, food and beverage, renewable energy, and real estate. 
As an advocate for equitable opportunity and access, Walter also emphasizes investment in minority- and women-owned-and-operated businesses. Walter and his partners commit a significant portion of the companies’ profits to promoting stronger communities, equitable opportunity and access, education, and conservation.
Walter is a trustee of Creighton University, Northwestern University, the Field Museum, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. He received his J.D. from Northwestern University and his BSBA degree from Creighton University.
