Mary Jane Melendez is a future-focused ESG thought leader. She is a catalyst for quantifiable and qualitative improvement creating a competitive advantage. She works with teams around the world to build a culture that connects her team’s work to a larger purpose. Mary Jane has been instrumental in shaping General Mills’ sustainability and global impact strategies and leads the company charter to Stand for Good. She currently serves as Chief Sustainability and Global Impact Officer for General Mills where she leads the company's global impact efforts, responsible for advancing collaboration and integration across the enterprise to drive change by promoting environmentally and socially responsible practices across the value chain. Mary Jane recently received the Hendrickson Medal for Ethical Leadership from the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota for her leadership in employing ethical approaches to solve business, community, and planetary challenges. Mary Jane’s accomplishments have been featured in many publications including Forbes, Greenbiz and the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of The Conference Board’s Sustainability Council, WRI’s Corporate Consultative Group, and the Board of the St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation.
