Michael Ellison is the Co-Founder and CEO of CodePath, an organization diversifying the next generation of engineers, CTOs, and founders by reprogramming education nationwide. CodePath partners with universities to deliver industry-aligned curricula centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. With generous support from leading venture capital firms, major technology companies, and national foundations, CodePath runs courses across more than 80 universities and has taught over 26,000 students since 2017. Michael is a Schmidt Futures Innovation Fellow and was recognized as an Industry Changemaker, part of Walmart’s Black & Unlimited Initiative, during the 2022 NAACP Image Awards. Prior to CodePath, Michael co-founded ClassMetric, an edtech company that later became Segment, acquired by Twilio for $3.2B. Michael is also a founding board member of Women Who Code.
