Simon Radford

Director, European Policy and Programming, Milken Institute

Dr. Simon Radford is the Director for Policy and Programming for the Milken Institute in Europe. Before joining the Milken Institute, Simon enjoyed a varied career as an academic (with a focus on democratization and the former Soviet Union), strategy consulting for both the public and private sectors, investment advisory (with a focus on venture capital), and building not-for-profit ventures with the aim of generating social impact. He’s also worked in UK local government as an elected representative, working on issues from local climate change mitigation to chairing the London Borough of Barnet’s pension fund. His policy focus areas at the Milken Institute include finance and social impact, UK social policy, philanthropy and public policy, and international relations. Simon received his PhD from the University of Southern California, a Masters in Public Affairs from Brown, and did his undergraduate work at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge. He lives in London with his wife and two young boys. When not working or being involved in his community, he spends his time watching soccer as a season ticket holder at Brentford Football Club in the English Premier League.
