Special Envoy for the New Climate Economy of the Democratic Republic of CongoStéphanie is President of the Cercle des réformateurs intègres du Congo (CRIC), a party allied to the UDPS-Tshisekedi. She became involved in politics at a very young age (18) with the Mouvement de Libération du Congo (MLC). She was outraged by the flagrant human rights violations committed by the AFDL Kadogos under Mzee Laurent Désiré Kabila. She left Jean-Pierre Bemba's party because she didn't find the promotion of women's rights to her liking. She began to fight for women's rights. Professional careerStéphanie Mbombo embarked on a career as a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the tender age of 22. She was appointed advisor to the Minister. She became head of department at the Congolese diplomatic academy before taking a career break to study European law at the ULB in order to strengthen African integration. She represented the DRC Chamber of Mines in Australia, where she was in charge of mining governance. Until her new appointment, she was advisor to the Head of State's Chief of Staff, notably on environmental issues.
