Victor Khosla is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Strategic Value Partners (SVP). He established SVP in 2001 and has built it into a leading global private credit firm. Mr. Khosla has led the Firm’s transformation from its roots in distressed investing to one with strengths in private debt, event-driven investing, hard assets (real estate, infrastructure, airplanes, power plants) and special situations private equity. He was a pioneer in Europe, setting up an office in London in 2004, and has capitalized on various dislocations; Europe typically accounts for a third to half the SVP portfolio. Today, SVP has operating control or influence over 15 businesses with about 100,000 employees. Over his career, Mr. Khosla has built and managed one of the top proprietary trading businesses at Merrill Lynch, served as President of Cerberus Capital and run MooreSVP, a JV with Moore Capital. Mr. Khosla graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce (Honors) degree from Delhi University, an MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, as well as an MBA from the University of Chicago. Mr. Khosla is a frequent speaker on capital markets and private credit investing, a member of the Management Council at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is on the board of Pratham USA, one of the largest non-governmental education organizations in India.
