Mr. Schwartz joined Guggenheim Partners as Executive Chairman, a global, independent and privately held financial services firm. Alan is the former CEO of The Bear Stearns Companies. He also served as president/COO, and head of investment banking. He earned a B.A. in management science from Duke in 1972. He was a member of the Duke Board of Trustees and served as chairman of the Fuqua School of Business Board of Visitors. Alan is a member of the boards of the Robin Hood Foundation, Marvin and Palmer, NYU Langone, CHAI, MSG and Nat’l Medal of Honor Museum.
