Alok is a transformational leader with a distinguished career spanning four decades as a senior finance professional and an ex-banker. He has played a pivotal role in defining the success story of the Reliance Group through his contributions relating to management of the Group’s financial resources, banking relationships and capital market transactions for over two decades and establishing robust Governance and Risk Management programs. Alok brings excellent leadership capability and management skills as well as strong ability to drive decision making. He works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, including the Promoters and Board, to drive the vision, strategy, and growth of the organisation. Alok joined Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) in 1993 as Treasurer and was nominated as CFO in 2007. In his role as CFO over 15 years, Reliance grew from assets of $25 bio and market cap of $45 billion to an asset base of over $200 billion and market cap of nearly $250 billion and is currently among the top 50 companies globally. In this period, Reliance incubated two major global scale businesses of Telecom and Retail and made major investments in its core energy business. Alok was responsible for managing these investments, financing them, and putting a world class governance framework around them. He has also received personal recognition as the best CFO in Asia. Alok and his wife Shobha are deeply passionate about giving and have setup a private non-profit foundation to support education of young girls from underprivileged communities. Alok holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the premier business school in India - IIM Ahmedabad, and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT-Kanpur. Prior to joining RIL, he was with Bank of America for 12 years in a variety of roles.
