Brett Tejpaul is the Head of Coinbase Institutional, a division of Coinbase that helps clients understand, develop, and execute opportunities created by digital assets and Web3. He is a highly experienced leader with nearly three decades in financial services, institutional sales and trading, and cryptocurrency. Coinbase is focused on the continued institutionalization of cryptocurrencies. Since its launch, Coinbase has rapidly expanded its institutional client base, built new features for institutional investors, and developed in-depth industry research on cryptocurrencies as an asset class and their role within a diversified portfolio. As Head of Coinbase Institutional, Brett is focused on scaling our various marketplaces, Prime Platform (which encompasses digital asset custody, trading, financing, staking, research), and Asset Management. He plays a key role in helping institutions bridge the gap between traditional finance and the crypto economy. Coinbase delivers solutions and execution capabilities for a wide range of client segments, including crypto-first protocols, hedge funds, pensions, endowments, global asset managers, wealth platforms, banks, brokers, RIAs, and payment platforms. Prior to joining Coinbase, Brett was on the Markets Executive Committee at Barclays Investment Bank, where he was responsible for Global Sales across FICC and Equities, as well as serving as Head of Digital. Throughout his career, he has overseen numerous asset classes, including credit, equities, rates, commodities, emerging markets, prime, and structuring. Previously, he was at JPMorgan, where he held various roles in rates, credit, exotics, trading, and sales.
