Daniel Finkelstein is associate editor of the Times having previously been that paper’s executive editor. He now writes a political column and has been political columnist of the year four times. He was director of the Conservative Research Department and adviser to prime minister John Major and later secretary of the Shadow Cabinet under William Hague. He is the author of the bestselling memoir Hitler, Stalin, Mum and Dad. He is a director of Chelsea FC and Chair of the Chelsea Foundation. He is also a Trustee of the British Museum.
