
Helmy Eltoukhy is the chairman and co-CEO of Guardant Health, a leading precision oncology company he co-founded in 2012 with Dr. AmirAli Talasaz. In December 2024, Eltoukhy expanded his ventures into sports ownership by co-leading the acquisition of Sheffield United Football Club through COH Sports, alongside Steven Rosen. Both Eltoukhy and Rosen have assumed roles as co-chairmen of the club. Beyond his entrepreneurial endeavors, Eltoukhy serves on the board of the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence). Prior to founding Guardant Health, Eltoukhy co-founded Avantome in 2007 to commercialize semiconductor sequencing, which was later acquired by Illumina. At Illumina, he served as senior director of Advanced Technology Research, developing novel chemistries, hardware, and informatics for genetic analysis systems. Eltoukhy holds PhD, MS, and BS degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
