James LiMr. Li is a Partner and President of Davidson Kempner. Mr. Li joined Davidson Kempner in September or 2018 as the Head of Capital Markets. Mr. Li became a Partner in January 2024 and President in January 2025. Mr. Li co-manages the Client Partnership & Business Development and oversees the Firm’s Capital Markets, Strategy and Treasury Teams. Mr. Li serves on the Risk Committees for the Davidson Kempner Opportunities Funds and Income Funds. From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Li worked at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Managing Director in the Securities Division. Mr. Li received a B.S. in Engineering Management Systems from Columbia University in 2006.
