Since 2023, Mathias Burghardt has been appointed Executive Vice-President of the Ardian Group, Europe's leading private equity firm with $177 billion in assets under management or advisement. He is also the CEO of Ardian France S.A., the group's main regulated entity, which notably acts as an AIFM for direct investment funds. A member of Ardian's executive committee since 2014, he is also responsible for the company's technological development and information systems. He also oversees the group’s communications. Mathias Burghardt is the founder of Ardian's infrastructure team and has been leading the group's investment activities in this sector since 2005. The team currently manages nearly $36 billion in assets and has raised more than ten funds since its inception. Mathias has also led the Technology and Innovation strategy of Ardian since 2019 with several major achievement including the launch of Trustview Ardian, a best-in-class LP portal, the launch of the migration of Ardian IT to a cloud-based infrastructure and the creation of a data science team responsible for executing the data and AI strategy of Ardian, focusing both on i) creating value in portfolio companies with specific proprietary digital platforms such as Opta, leveraging the power of data to optimize operations of renewable assets and ii) increasing the efficiency of Ardian teams through more data and AI driven products. Mathias and the Ardian group support further initiatives, such as France’s Ecole Normale Superieure Chair and the Data Science partnership with Columbia University in New York.
