Nat Simons, along with his wife Laura Baxter-Simons, co-founded Sea Change Foundation in 2006. Sea Change is a private family foundation dedicated to mitigating global climate change by advancing private and public policies, fostering investments, and promoting practices that reduce the most significant sources of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2009, Nat and Laura launched Prelude Ventures, an early-stage investment firm focused on supporting emerging companies that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. In 2017, Nat and Laura joined the Giving Pledge. In 2019, Sea Change partnered with other leading climate funders to establish Climate Lead, an NGO that serves as a trusted guide for high-net-worth families entering or scaling in climate philanthropy. Nat holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
