Ned Brines, CFA is presently the Chief of Investment Strategy for Arnel & Affiliates, the family office for the Julianne & George L. Argyros family, where he directs the investment portfolios of the family and the Argyros Family Foundation. After a six-year career in investment banking, Mr. Brines spent 16 years as an institutional money manager and then joined the family office world in 2009. Mr. Brines earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from San Diego State University. Mr. Brines also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, currently serves as an independent director for NYSE listed Independence Realty Trust (IRT), and served on the boards of Steadfast Income REIT, Steadfast Apartment REIT III, Alcentra Global Direct Lending Fund, and the Steadfast Apartment REIT, all four of which resulted in successful exits. Mr. Brines is involved in various community activities including serving on the investment committee of City of Hope, the board of directors for HomeWord, Global Capital Markets Advisory Committee at the Milken Institute, and Institutional Investor’s Family Office Advisory Board. Mr. Brines also teaches FIN 496-Managing the Family Office, at Chapman University in the Argyros College of Business and Economics. Mr. Brines has been a regular contributor to CNBC and Bloomberg TV.
