Sarah Longwell

Political Strategist; Publisher, The Bulwark

Sarah Longwell is the publisher of The Bulwark, which she helped found in 2019. She regularly conducts focus groups with voters across the political spectrum and hosts the podcast The Focus Group which is in its fifth season. She is a recognized expert in qualitative research, having hosted hundreds of groups and talked to thousands of voters from across the country and the political spectrum. This work focuses on “going deep” on voters: what motivates them, their media diets, and how they think about the major issues driving our politics. Sarah focuses this work on swing voters, including current and former Trump voters, and uses these findings to create compelling communications campaigns. In addition to The Bulwark, Sarah’s work has been featured on PBS NewsHour, CNN, MSNBC, and in the New York Times and the Atlantic.
