Sean Shoptaw leads the global games and digital entertainment teams at The Walt Disney Company. As executive vice president, Sean oversees the Disney Games Group and the development of an all-new games and entertainment universe in collaboration with Epic Games. Sean oversees a portfolio of highly successful console, mobile and PC games. Disney’s games teams work in collaboration with best-in-class developers and publishers around the world including EA, Epic Games, Gameloft, Microsoft, Netmarble, NetEase, Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix and Ubisoft. In addition, Sean leads the team developing the expansive games and entertainment universe with Epic Games, which will further expand the reach of beloved Disney stories and experiences. A Disney leader for more than a decade, Sean has held several executive roles in business development, games, interactive experiences and digital. Prior to joining The Walt Disney Company, Sean led business development for Yahoo! Sports, where he drove partnerships with professional sports leagues, media companies, critical content providers and talent. There, he was responsible for groundbreaking deals to further Yahoo! Media Group’s position as an industry leader.
