Suzanne Ehlers

Executive Director and CEO, USA for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

Suzanne Ehlers is a seasoned non-profit executive with 25+ years of experience serving global populations, including refugees, displaced people, and the stateless. She is currently the Executive Director and CEO of USA for UNHCR, leading a team of 80+ in DC and NYC to amplify refugee voices and engage millions of Americans in support of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. Suzanne previously served as CEO of Malala Fund, working closely with Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai to champion girls’ education. Before that, she was President and CEO of PAI, transforming it into a leading voice for the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls. Known for scaling mission-driven organizations, Suzanne is a systems thinker and passionate connector who fosters collaboration across sectors to tackle complex global issues. She serves on the board of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and has held multiple advisory roles. A former Peace Corps volunteer in the Central African Republic, Suzanne holds a degree in Government from Cornell University. Originally from San Antonio, TX, she now lives in Washington, DC with her husband, two daughters, and their beloved dog.
