Dr. Lei Yang has more than two decades of experience in technology development, corporate strategy/operations and investments. He founded Particle Future Venture Capital (Particle Future) in 2022. Particle Future focuses on partnering with world-class entrepurenuers in HardTech to build long-term sustainable global brands. From early 2010 until the end of 2021, he led NLVC’s Advanced Technology investments that cover a wide range of technology innovation driven companies across semiconductors, new materials, AI, Internet of Things, robotics, industrial automation and green energy. Prior to NLVC, he was a Principal at VantagePoint Venture Partners (VPVP), where he also focused on early-stage investments in transformational technology companies. Prior to VPVP, he was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company serving Fortune 500 companies across the high-tech value chain: semiconductor equipment, logic, memory and microprocessor devices, networking/storage equipment, and software and IT services. He supported and consulted with multiple clients in challenging corporate transformation and turnaround situations, cross border mergers and acquisitions of large technology companies in US, Europe and Japan. Lei holds a BS in Chemistry from Peking University, a MS in Computer Sciences and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
