Ivonne Madrid Canudas holds a degree in International Affairs from Universidad de las Américas (UDLA) and Mount Union College. In 2005, she joined Alsea reporting directly to the Chairmanof the Board and since 2011, she leads all global efforts of Social Responsibility and Alsea Foundation. Among her main achievements within this organization is the creation of a Social Responsibility Structure, at the highest hierarchical level, and the construction of the management model that has been implemented since 2011 to date. She is responsible for the annual achievement of; Alsea’s adherence to the Global Compact; the preparation of the company’s Annual Social Responsibility Report and, Alsea’s entry to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index MILA. Within Fundación Alsea, she has managed to align all the philanthropic initiatives of the company’s brands to the core of the business: food. She created the Va por mi Cuenta Movement in 2012, which is a program that seeks to contribute to end food poverty. Currently the movement operates 33 dining centers that feed almost 8,000 children living in extreme poverty every day and supports the food banks in the country to rescue tons of food to feed almost 2 milion people.
