Chris Anstey runs a team at Bloomberg News responsible for analysis of trends in Asian and global financial markets – ranging from the impact of central bank policy to the opening up of China’s capital markets. He previously oversaw economic and government news in the Asia-Pacific region from Pakistan in the west to New Zealand in the east. He led the U.S. economy team in Washington during the 2007-2009 financial crisis, after having served in London covering EMEA bond and currency markets. Prior to joining Bloomberg in 2004, he held roles at AFX News including U.S. Treasury correspondent. Earlier, Chris covered the White House and State Department in Washington for Japan's TV Asahi. He has a master of arts from Columbia University in international affairs, and a bachelor of science in foreign service from Georgetown University.
