Ed Garden is Chief Investment Officer and a Founding Partner of Trian Partners. As Chief Investment Officer, he oversees Trian’s portfolio management, idea generation, analyses and due diligence activities. He also leads Trian’s engagement with the management teams and boards of directors at the companies in which it invests. Mr. Garden is currently a director of General Electric, where he is a member of the Finance & Capital Allocation Committee and Management Development & Compensation Committee, and The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, where he is Chairman of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and is a member of the Finance Committee and Risk Committee. He previously served as a director of The Wendy’s Company from December 2004 to December 2015, Family Dollar Stores, Inc. from September 2011 to July 2015, and Pentair plc from May 2016 to April 2018. In October 2014, He was named to CNBC’s Next List, composed of 100 next generation trailblazers expected to change the face of business over the next 25 years. Mr. Garden received a B.A. from Harvard College.
