Masahiko Shibayama is the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the government of Japan. After the career at Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., he was registered as a lawyer (Tokyo Bar Association) in 2000. Since 2004, he has been elected to the House of Representatives 6 consecutive times. Positions he served include Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs (two terms), State Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Cabinet Standing Committee Chair of the House of Representatives, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister (in charge of Important Policies concerning National Security and National Election System) (two terms), and Deputy secretary general of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) (concurrently Special Advisor to the President). Mr. Shibayama is an Aichi Prefecture native, and graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Tokyo in 1990.
