Tetsuya Oishi is the head of investment strategy at Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF). He is responsible for tactical asset allocation, benchmark selection and several research projects including the one with the World Bank Group with regard to ESG for fixed income investment. Before assuming the current role, he built private equity and infrastructure investment programs with International Finance Corporation and Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, respectively. He was also in charge of market research, portfolio design and manager due diligence for domestic fixed income portfolio and treasury operation. Prior to joining GPIF in 2009, he was a portfolio manager of fixed incomes at Nomura Asset Management, a trader of fixed income derivatives at Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan (LTCB) and an analyst of the general machinery industry at LTCB Research Institute. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo in 1994 and he holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
