Shaukat Aziz is former prime minister of Pakistan, serving from 2004 to 2007 following five years as finance minister. He was the first Pakistani prime minister to complete a full term. Aziz restored his country's credibility at home and abroad and is known for his strategic approach, structural reforms and transparency. His policies were based on the principles of liberalization, deregulation and privatization, accompanied by strong regulatory oversight. He formerly held a number of Citibank senior management positions in a long career in global finance, including head of institutional banking for Central Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa and later for Asia Pacific, and head of the bank's global wealth management business. Aziz graduated from Gordon College, Rawalpindi, and earned an M.B.A. from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi.
