Raymond Dalio is founder, chairman and co-chief investment officer of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund. Under his guidance, Bridgewater introduced several industry-changing approaches to investing, including risk parity, the separation of alpha and beta, and currency overlay, prompting aiCIO Magazine to call Dalio the "Steve Jobs of investing." Bridgewater has received more than 20 Manager of the Year awards and Dalio has received three Lifetime Achievement awards. In 2012, Time magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. His way of looking at the economy is described in his YouTube video "How the Economic Machine Works," which has been viewed 2.7 million times, and his way of running a company has been explained in "Principles," which has also been viewed more than 2.7 million times. Philanthropically, Dalio supports oceanographic research, social enterprise and neuroscience. He has a B.S. from C.W. Post College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
