Dr. Ronny Bruffaerts is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry of the KU Leuven, Belgium, where he serves as head of the Center for Public Health Psychiatry and co-directs the WHO World Mental Health International College Student (WMH-ICS) initiative. He graduated in theoretical psychology (1997), clinical psychology (1998), and specialized studies in psychotherapy (2004) at the KU Leuven, from which he received his PhD in Medical Sciences (2005). For more than 20 years, his main research field is psychiatric epidemiology, where the focus lies on measuring and understanding mental disorders in emerging adults.
