Tarak Ben Ammar was born in 1949 to a prominent family in Tunisia, where his uncle Habib Bourguiba was the first President of Tunisia. After graduating from Georgetown University, Ben Ammar forged a successful career as a film producer, working on Lucas' Star Wars,Spielberg's Raiders, Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth, and Gibson's Passion of the Christ. He created the film industry in Tunisia by building the first film studios which attracted 58 films that have employed 1 million people. Ben Ammar has also served as an advisor to Murdoch, Prince Waleed, Bolloré and Berlusconi. In 2009, Tarak Ben Ammar officially launched Nessma the first North African independent TV Channel who played a key role in the Tunisian revolution. Nessma is the leading channel in North Africa. Ben Ammar also controls Eagle Pictures, which is Italy's number one independent film distribution and production company with a library of 1500 films and distributes all of Paramount and MGM films. In 2019, he formed a US venture called Spyglass Media Group. Spyglass announced a strategic partnership with Warner Bros and other important US partners.
