Dr. Samer Haj-Yehia is the Chairman of Bank Leumi (the oldest and largest bank in Israel), a member of the WEF’s Community of Chairpersons, and an adjunct professor in Finance and Economics at Reichman University. He has extensive management experience and is a leading subject-matter expert in global Fintech, Banking, Investment Management and Capital Markets, covering multi-asset classes from multidisciplinary perspectives— Management, Legal, Accounting, Finance and Economics. Dr. Haj-Yehia has Board and Chairperson experience in various industries, including at Strauss Group, BIG Shopping Centers Group, Hadassah Medical Center, and the Council for Higher Education. He has also served as a member of public and governmental committees, as well as a social volunteer. He practiced Investment Management and Trading at Fidelity and GMO, Economic and Strategic Consultancy at Analysis Group and Deloitte, and interned in law at Herzog law firm. He won numerous prestigious awards in Research and Teaching, including from Harvard, MIT, IDC, the Hebrew University, Fulbright and the Bank of Israel. Samer holds a PhD in Economics from MIT, MBA in Banking and Finance (summa cum laude, class rank: first), LLB in Law, MA in Economics (magna cum laude), BA in Accounting and Economics (magna cum laude), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Auditing and Accounting. Dr. Haj-Yehia was admitted to the Israel Bar in 1999 and is a CFA charterholder.
