Hussain Sajwani is the founder of global property development company, DAMAC Properties, and The DAMAC Group. A pioneer of the Middle East’s property market, he privately built hotels in the mid-90s to accommodate the influx of people coming to Dubai for business and trade, and in 2002, he established DAMAC Properties. To date, DAMAC Properties has delivered over 46,000 homes and has over 33,000 in development with projects in 15 cities around the world including Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, Beirut, Amman, Doha, Baghdad, Maldives, Toronto, Miami and London. The DAMAC Group has in its portfolio a hotel management company that manages eight hotel properties, with a luxurious hotel resort under construction in the Maldives. The Group has also entered the data centre industry through ‘Edgnex’ and is the current owner of the Italian fashion group Roberto Cavalli SPA and Swiss luxury jewellery brand de GRISIGONO. As an astute businessman and investor, Sajwani also has a proven track record in the global equity and capital markets through his private investment division. Alongside his family, Sajwani advocates for access to quality education under the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, including the Dubai Schools Project and One Million Arab Coders.
