Diego López is a world-renowned expert in Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs), who in the past few years has reshaped the industry by establishing several key initiatives including the Global SWF Data Platform, the GSR Scoreboard for best practices, and the SWF Academy to nurture the future leaders of the world’s top sovereign and pension funds. He is a rare blend of practitioner and academic and has published several articles in leading academic journals. Prior to establishing Global SWF, Diego spent five years building up PwC’s footprint in the SWF industry as the Director and COO of the global practice, based in Abu Dhabi and New York. He has also worked for KPMG and Santander, and he earned a master’s in finance from the London School of Economics (LSE) after graduating in the Universities of Madrid and Milan. A Spanish-American dual citizen and Singapore resident, he is passionate about all-things-global. He has lived and worked in nine different countries in four continents and has been in 90+. Diego is a prolific open water and ice swimmer and has raced in all continents, incl. Antarctica. He is the author of "Continents Seven: Values for sports, business and life, learned around the world" and is planning a second book after he visits his 100th country.
