Mr. Ron Cao is Founding Partner of Sky9 Capital, an early-stage focused technology venture capital firm with offices in Singapore, Shanghai, and San Francisco. During his investment career across Silicon Valley and Asia, Ron has focused on investing in innovative and disruptive opportunities in software, semiconductors, AI, internet, biotechnology and Web3. He has invested in a number of startups that have grown to become market leaders in their respective industries. Some of these investments including Meituan/Dianping (HKSE: 3690), Temu (NASDAQ: PDD), Energy Monster (NASDAQ: EM), Full Truck Alliance（NYSE: YMM), FinVolution (NYSE: FINV), QingCloud (SSE: 688316), XtalPi (HK: 2228), WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD), FangDD (NASDAQ: DUO), FaceU/ByteDance, Tujia, Xbiome and Moonshot AI.Ron has over 24 years of venture capital experience, and previously, he was founding partner of Lightspeed China Partners and partner with Lightspeed Venture Partners and had started its China operations in 2006. Previously, Ron was Managing Director of KLM Capital, where he led the company’s early-stage cross-border investments in Silicon Valley and Asia. Ron started his career with Motorola, Goldman Sachs and Intel.Ron was named by Forbes China as one of the “Top VentureCapitalists” over multiple years and was named by the World Economic Forum as one of its Young Global Leaders. Ron holds bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
