Tamar Thompson is a corporate affairs executive, market access champion, and health policy strategist. Tamar has extensive pharmaceutical commercialization and launch strategy experience; over the course of her career, she has worked across the healthcare continuum to ensure optimal market entry and patient access to innovative, breakthrough, and curative therapies. Prior to joining Alexion/AstraZeneca Rare Disease, Tamar led Federal Executive Branch Strategy and State Government Affairs for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. Mrs. Thompson has also served as a strategic policy advisor and consultant for three premiere Washington DC-based firms where she managed a diverse portfolio of clients, including medical device, biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and specialty drug companies. Tamar holds an M.S. in Health Sciences with a concentration in Public Health from Trident University in Cypress California. She is currently participating in the Berkeley NextGen Directors Program focused on corporate governance education and training for the next generation of diverse executives. Mrs. Thompson also holds an Executive Leadership certificate from Columbia University.
