Elena Hoffnagle is an Assistant Director at the Harvard Kennedy School Government Performance Lab, where she leads projects to transform public procurement practices. In engagements with numerous local governments, Elena has helped city leaders use procurement as a tool to improve the performance of key government programs and services. Elena is a graduate of the MPP program at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she focused on social and urban policy. Previously, she spent four years at the National League of Cities providing technical assistance to city governments across the U.S. In that role, she managed Let's Move! Cities, Towns and Counties, a key part of former First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative to reduce childhood obesity. Elena holds a BA in Political Science with Distinction from Yale University.
