Aron Betru is managing director of the Center for Financial Markets at the Milken Institute, where he leads strategic innovative financing initiatives focused on expanding and leveraging resources to enhance social impact. Mr. Betru also leads the Institute's work on Opportunity Zones, and served as the Institute's representative on the Business & Sustainable Development Commission's Blended Finance TaskForce Steering Group, as well as Co-Chaired the Partnership for Lending in Underserved Markets, a joint initiative with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Prior to joining the Institute, Betru was co-founder and CEO of Financing for Development. Betru has had international development roles at the United Nations Foundation and Dalberg Global Development Advisors as well as private-sector experience at McKinsey & Co. and Goldman Sachs. A member of the Board of Directors for Calvert Impact Capital and FHI360, as well as a Trustee of FHI Foundation, Mr. Betru holds a B.A. in economics and international studies from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from Columbia University and an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
