R. Donahue "Don" Peebles is founder, chairman and CEO of Peebles Corp., a privately held real estate investment and development company with a multibillion-dollar portfolio in New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and Florida. He also is a top-selling author and a sought-after speaker. Peebles is an avid supporter of mentoring to expose youth to the value of entrepreneurship. He is vice chairman of the board of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and serves on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York and the National Finance Committee of President Barack Obama, among other posts. He has been featured in numerous media outlets and is a guest host and commentator on CNBC, CNN and Fox, advising on real estate, economic and political issues. In May 2009, Forbes listed Peebles among the 10 wealthiest black Americans. His many honors include Entrepreneur of the Year at the Best of Black Business Awards and honorary doctorates from Johnson and Wales University and Sojourner-Douglass College.
