Dan Crippen
With a PhD in public finance, Dan Crippen has held some of the highest appointive offices in government: Domestic Policy Advisor to President Ronald Reagan; Director of the Congressional Budget Office; Executive Director of the National Governors Association; and Economic Advisor and Chief Counsel for Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker. Private sector experience includes board membership of for-profit (both public and private) companies and not-for-profit organizations, including service on audit committees. Strong emphasis during career on health and health care at the federal and state levels, and with health companies and committees. Extensive knowledge of Medicaid. Promote(d) advances in the financial sector, working with regulators (SEC), financial firms (Merrill Lynch), and academia (MIT). Service as member of the board, trustee, consultant or advisor for organizations, including commissions and advisory committees, such as NASA, Google, MCI, NASD, and CBO. Member of Council on Foreign Relations, National Academy for Public Administration (Fellow), National Association of Corporate Directors, and American Economic Association.
