This session will open with a conversation with Paulo Guedes, Minister of Economy, Brazil, followed by a panel discussion.
The panel will explore the future of the US-Brazil relationship by highlighting opportunities that go beyond the rhetoric and focusing on shared prosperity. As Brazil seeks new partnerships in higher-skilled, non-commodity sectors that will foster growth, with an emphasis on science and technology, the US must look to the world's eighth-largest economy as a willing neighbor endowed with vast natural resources, human capital, and a flourishing tech environment, and as a crucial partner to feed the world's growing population, which is forecast to reach more than nine billion by 2050.
