Perceiving a market gap, Asian entrepreneurs built innovative companies that empowered millions of their compatriots to participate in the formal economy. By enabling essential transactions and improving access to the digital economy, these companies expanded peoples' abilities to learn and work, and to avail themselves of financial, health, and entertainment services. In doing so, companies reached new markets and new customers.
