The Milken Institute projects that over the next 20 years, the prevalence of dementia in the US will double from nearly 7.2 million to nearly 13 million, with women comprising about two-thirds of those expected to develop dementia. Experts will discuss recommendations developed by the Milken Institute in its newly released report, "Reducing the Cost and Risk of Dementia: Recommendations to Improve Brain Health and Decrease Disparities." Speakers will address efforts to improve rates of early detection and diagnosis, new payment models to better meet the needs of those living with dementia, training for paid and unpaid caregivers, and the economic impact of dementia on diverse communities.
