About the California Policy Summit
The Milken Institute’s California Policy Summit is an invitation-only event that convenes state policy leaders, alongside business and civic leaders, to focus on innovative policy solutions for some of the state's most significant policy challenges.
At the event, California leaders will forge relationships and spark initiatives that can catalyze policy solutions across the state. From its global innovation-based economy, ambitious climate stewardship and resiliency goals, and challenging social initiatives related to combating housing and poverty, California is a prolific laboratory for bold ideas.

Program Topics
The summit program will cover an array of topics from trade, affordable housing, economic opportunity, and community investment, to reshaping the higher education system, ultimately addressing many of the state’s most vital questions:
- How can city and state leaders collaborate to produce more affordable housing projects? How do we ensure California's economic opportunity is not limited by geography and is more inclusive and equitable across the state?
- How can state leaders reshape California's higher education system to develop critical skills for 21st-century jobs?
- How can state leaders work together to support infrastructure, resiliency, and community investment?
State Leaders
Leaders across the public, private, nonprofit, and academic sectors will collaborate to identify policy and market-based solutions to some of California’s greatest economic and social challenges. In these invitation-only sessions, decision-makers can have frank and in-depth discussions with the potential to match human, financial, and educational resources with the most innovative and effective ideas.
