Sheila Patel is Vice Chairman of B Capital Group. Sheila brings thirty years of experience in financial markets and investment, having most recently served as Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, one of the ten largest asset managers in the world. Sheila served on Goldman Sachs’ Firmwide Management Committee, Partnership Committee, the Inclusion & Diversity Committee, and led ESG and Sustainability initiatives for GSAM, among other leadership responsibilities. Over her years with the firm, she held leadership roles in 2 divisions and on 3 continents, managing a variety of businesses globally during her career. She is a board member of the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, an Angel sponsor of 100 Women in Finance, and a member of both the Global Leadership Committee and the Women in Leadership Initiative at Princeton University, as well as a founding supporter of the M.S. Chadha Center for Global India at Princeton. Ms. Patel has taught an advanced seminar on Equity Derivatives at the Columbia Business School. She holds degrees with highest honors from Princeton and Columbia and was named Investment Woman of the Year by Investment Week in 2020, one of Financial News’ 100 Women in Finance in 2019, and to Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Asia in 2015. She is regularly featured for her investment insights and market observations by financial media.
