Khadijah Sharif-Drinkard serves as SVP, Business Affairs, ABC News, where she negotiates and oversees the deal strategy for on-air talent and senior editorial staff as well as production, digital and content license agreements aimed at growing ABC News’ brand and increasing revenue and audience size. She also oversees the Rights & Clearances and Videosource teams. Prior to ABC News, Khadijah was SVP, Business, and Legal Affairs at ViacomCBS, where she oversaw a bi-coastal team of attorneys and legal professionals for BET Networks. Some career highlights include closing high profile deals for groundbreaking hits like "The New Edition Story," "The Bobby Brown Story," and the "Black Girls Rock! Awards Show" and helping to launch BET’s SVOD service BET+. She started her career at Nickelodeon upon graduating from Columbia University where she worked in the Talent and Production Department and later returned after law school to help launch "Dora the Explorer," "The Backyardigans" and oversaw talent deals for hits like "SpongeBob SquarePants". Khadijah’s dedication to mentoring young professionals and her commitment to philanthropy is evidenced through her work on several boards including serving as Chairwoman for the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association and Chair of Columbia College Women. She received the 2019 Medal of Honor from the NJ Muslim Lawyers Association, the 2018 Corporate Counsel of the Year Award from the Muslim Bar Association of New York and she penned a chapter on her life for a book entitled, “Living Islam Out Loud: American Muslim Women Speak."
