There has been no shortage of controversy over the past two years about the state of K-12 education, ranging from the effectiveness of virtual learning to what approaches are best to help students catch up. However, one result of the pandemic seems indisputable: There has been a tragic widening of the pre-pandemic achievement gap and a loss of grade-level skills, especially among students from underserved communities. Education leaders will convene for our 25th annual K-12 education panel to assess the state of education, define challenges, and explicate programs that have demonstrated high levels of success.
