Caregiving in America: Time for Change

The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the critical role and shortage of caregivers. An estimated 29.2 million Americans are employed while providing on average 24 hours of care for an aging family member each week. Because women provide two thirds of unpaid care, they are more likely to experience workforce interruptions, leading to lost benefits and promotions at work. Both care workers and family caregivers struggle with burnout, health challenges, and financial insecurity. How should we support those caring for loved ones? How can we ensure that care workers are rewarded for their service and afforded lives of dignity? Our speakers will discuss strategies and solutions to support American caregiving.
