Veterans bring valuable skills that can benefit the civilian job market, but without adequate tools and resources to translate these skills into meaningful employment, their contributions remain underutilized. To resolve these issues, the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) should address a more individualized career-support approach, extend the transition timeline, and introduce comprehensive financial literacy education.
By focusing on these areas, the program could better equip veterans and their families for long-term success. Reforming TAP is essential to empowering veterans to achieve economic stability, ensuring that their service is honored by providing them with the support they need to thrive in civilian life.
